HAIKU POETRY

  • A Haiku poem is a form of Japanese poetry.

  • It consists of three lines and is created based upon syllables.

  • It contains three lines with specific numbers of syllables.

 The first and last lines have 5 syllables and the last line has 7 syllables.

  • The lines of a Haiku poem usually do not rhyme.


Haiku poetry is usually written about familiar things (for example: animals, weather, food, sports, colors, etc.)
